Sales Supervisor

About the role

The Sales Supervisor leads a team of sales representatives to achieve route‑based sales targets while ensuring product freshness and optimal customer service. Working closely with the Area Sales Manager or Branch Manager, the role balances operational efficiency with market intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the ASM/BM in setting sales targets, motivating staff and controlling sales routes to meet agreed goals.
• Gather and share market and competitor insights to inform strategic actions.
• Train sales staff on the company’s replenishment program and ensure product availability and freshness.
• Execute agreements with modern trade and wholesale customers, maintaining strong business relationships.
• Plan daily journeys for salesmen to maximise productivity and route efficiency.
• Monitor product shelf‑life at points of sale, controlling rotation and wastage.
• Identify and develop new customers within assigned routes.
• Apply the approved credit policy, managing credit and collections for timely payments.
• Maintain company assets, arranging repairs or replacements as needed.
• Recruit, train and manage sales personnel in line with HR policies.
• Ensure accurate data entry, administration and reporting using MSFA.
• Conduct daily MSFA endorsements with each salesman to review performance and plan actions.
• Maintain clean vehicles and professional uniforms to represent the company.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising sales teams in retail or wholesale environments.
• Strong understanding of route‑based sales, replenishment processes and credit management.
• Ability to analyse market data and translate insights into actionable plans.
• Excellent people‑management skills, including training and performance coaching.
• Good organizational skills for journey planning, inventory control and reporting.

Required skills

• MSFA (Mobile Sales Force Automation) – proficiency in using the system for data entry, reporting and daily endorsements.
