Senior Accountant (KSA)

About the role

Nathan HR Human Resources is recruiting a Senior Accountant based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on a full-time basis. The role covers a high volume of journal entries, reporting and analysis, and acts as a technical resource to junior staff and a point of contact for external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Create and document a high volume of journal entries with minimal errors and review by supervisors, and defend and analyse work appropriately.
• Act as a point of contact for external auditors and other personnel, preparing analyses and schedules and resolving routine problems.
• Perform and possibly supervise accounting sub-functions and prepare reports and statistics on financial results.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation for month-end close and accounting transactions, and maintain, reconcile and resolve P&L and balance sheet ledger accounts.
• Coordinate schedules, activities and reports with other departments, and establish operating procedures within existing internal controls and company policies.
• Manage reporting for statutory and corporate compliance (e.g. VAT/WHT) and cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare analysis and schedules for local management, internal and external auditors, and carry out ad hoc analyses.
• Support balance sheet accruals, provisions, allocations and reclassifications, and train colleagues on accounting software and tools.

Required profile

• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in a comparable multi-national organisation; biotech/pharmaceutical experience is strongly preferred.
• CPA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Prior experience in financial reporting, tax, AR/Credit, A/P and similar processes.

Required skills

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures.
• Strong knowledge of integrated enterprise systems, ideally SAP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft tools.
