Senior Accountant – Saudi Arabia (Saudization)

About the role
JAM Event Services is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Riyadh office. The role is a Saudization position responsible for day‑to‑day accounting operations, accurate financial records and timely reporting across KSA and regional entities.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger for KSA and regional entities, ensuring accurate classification of all transactions.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payment scheduling and follow‑up on outstanding balances.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit‑card statements and petty‑cash in line with Saudi banking practices.
- Process employee reimbursements and freelance expense claims with proper documentation and approvals.
- Register new entities on finance systems and maintain compliance records (Qiwa, Mudad, GOSI).
- Submit invoices through client portals in accordance with ZATCA e‑invoicing (Fatoora) regulations.
- Post month‑end journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and other adjustments accurately and on time.
- Ensure full VAT compliance with ZATCA and prepare related returns for KSA and GCC entities.
- Prepare Zakat returns and manage Withholding Tax filings for KSA entities.
- Assist with corporate tax filings for KSA and other GCC subsidiaries.
- Process payroll entries, reconcile payroll accounts and calculate GOSI contributions and end‑of‑service benefits.
- Support internal and external audits, including ZATCA inspections.
- Handle insurance‑related accounting, premiums, renewals and allocations.
- Maintain organized digital and physical financial records and handle confidential data with discretion.
- Provide financial analysis and process‑improvement support to senior management on special projects.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; ACCA, CPA, CMA or CA qualification strongly preferred.
- 5–6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the GCC, with full‑cycle accounting exposure.
- Hands‑on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, fixed‑asset and cash‑flow management.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi VAT, Zakat, Withholding Tax and corporate tax compliance.
- Experience preparing for audits and working with external auditors.
- Solid understanding of IFRS and Saudi tax law updates.
Required skills
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Zoho or other ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft 365 skills, especially Excel and SharePoint.
- Practical knowledge of e‑invoicing (Fatoora) and ZATCA reporting requirements.
- Ability to post journal entries, accruals, pre‑payments and perform month‑end adjustments.
- Competence in VAT, Zakat, Withholding Tax and corporate tax filing processes.
- Experience with bank reconciliation, fixed‑asset accounting and cash‑flow management.
