Senior Automation Engineer – Powertrain (PWT)

About the role

The Senior Automation Engineer, Powertrain (PWT) will own the PLC, SCADA, historian, MES‑OT integration and OT cybersecurity for the AMP‑2 Powertrain equipment at Lucid’s new Saudi facility. The role spans from initial commissioning through volume ramp‑up to the June 2027 SOP, ensuring a Factory‑4.0‑ready plant.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce PLC architecture and coding standards for Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000.
• Lead safety PLC deployment (Siemens F, Rockwell GuardLogix, Beckhoff TwinSAFE) and maintain functional‑safety compliance.
• Own SCADA architecture (Ignition, WinCC, FactoryTalk View SE) and historian systems (OSIsoft PI, Ignition Historian).
• Integrate MES for production tracking, quality traceability and OPC‑UA/SQL machine‑signal interfaces.
• Implement OT cybersecurity measures, network segmentation, secure remote access and patch management.
• Drive IIoT deployment, digital dashboards, predictive analytics and OEE monitoring.
• Deploy machine‑vision systems (Cognex, Keyence) and support robot‑PLC integration for FANUC and ABB cells.
• Enforce HV safety, LOTO, HVIL continuity and compliance with SASO, Saudi MOI and functional‑safety standards.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with PLC programming, HMI design and industrial networking.
• Proven track record in SCADA, historian and MES integration in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OT cybersecurity best practices and functional‑safety standards.
• Hands‑on experience with IIoT, predictive maintenance and digital SPC use cases.
• Ability to work onsite in a greenfield facility and transfer technical ownership to local workforce.
