Senior Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join a fast‑paced, remote‑first team building cloud‑native platforms for enterprise‑grade applications. You will design and develop high‑performance backend services, solve distributed‑systems challenges, and help shape product architecture from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud‑native backend services using Golang within a microservices architecture.
• Develop and operate distributed systems on Kubernetes across AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Microsoft Azure.
• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of new product features from concept through production.
• Apply computer‑science fundamentals to address scalability, networking, concurrency, and performance problems.
• Build secure integrations with enterprise identity and authentication systems, including SSO and providers such as Okta.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and infrastructure teams to define technical solutions and deliver high‑quality software.
• Contribute across the technology stack where backend services interact with infrastructure components.
• Promote best practices in system reliability, observability, and maintainability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable backend systems and cloud‑based microservices.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and solid knowledge of multiple programming languages.
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, operating systems, networking, concurrent programming, and distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes environments on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with enterprise‑grade authentication and identity management solutions such as Okta or other SSO/IdP platforms.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects, influence architectural decisions, and deliver production‑ready systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and comfort navigating ambiguity in a fast‑growing environment.
