Senior Director of Hotel Development

About the role

Qiddiya Investment Company is creating a landmark destination in Saudi Arabia, and the Hospitality Business Unit is developing a portfolio of hotel assets. The Senior Director will lead end‑to‑end development of these hospitality assets, shaping strategy, ensuring design quality, guest experience and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic development of hospitality assets from concept through delivery, handover and operational readiness.
• Shape asset strategy, feasibility and business plans to define positioning, guest experience and value creation.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment across strategy, asset management, design, delivery and operators.
• Provide strategic oversight of positioning, room mix, amenities and operational planning.
• Lead key asset validation milestones, including mock‑up room reviews and gateway decisions.
• Manage interfaces, risks and opportunities across all development workstreams.
• Lead governance and executive reporting, articulating asset strategy and risks.
• Mentor and develop teams, embedding strong development capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Development, Architecture, Engineering or related discipline.
• 20+ years’ experience in real estate or hospitality development.
• Professional membership or certification preferred (e.g., RICS, RIBA, PMP).
• Experience shaping development strategy, feasibility and positioning.
• Strong commercial acumen and judgement in high‑value development environments.
• Proven track record delivering complex luxury hospitality or mixed‑use assets.
• Experience working in multi‑stakeholder, large‑scale destination or master‑planned environments, preferably in the GCC.

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management and reporting tools such as Aconex.
