Senior Finance Specialist – Inventory & Fixed Assets

About the role

The Senior Finance Specialist (Inventory & Fixed Assets) ensures accurate accounting, control, and reporting of inventory and fixed assets across retail, food & beverage, and spare‑parts operations. Working in line with IFRS and company policies, the role supports financial integrity, audit readiness, and effective asset management for multiple projects and entities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full fixed‑asset lifecycle – creation, capitalization, transfers, depreciation, impairments, and disposals – ensuring compliance with IAS 16, IAS 36, and IAS 38.
• Monitor AUC/CWIP and execute timely capitalization upon project completion.
• Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Asset Register with the General Ledger and trial balance.
• Oversee inventory movements, perform stock and cycle counts, and reconcile variances.
• Support inventory valuation, provisions, obsolescence, and write‑offs in accordance with IAS 2.
• Prepare and post depreciation, inventory, and related journal entries; assist month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing.
• Perform sub‑ledger to GL reconciliations for inventory and fixed assets.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal policies, and capitalization thresholds; support internal and external audits.
• Coordinate with procurement, projects, operations, and finance on asset and inventory transactions; drive process improvements and system enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in fixed‑assets or financial accounting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, especially IAS 16, IAS 36, IAS 38, and IAS 2.
• Experience with internal controls and audit support.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, particularly SAP FI/MM.
• Experience using inventory/warehouse management systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Business Intelligence reporting tools.
