Senior Financial Reporting Specialist

About the role

Saudi Gold Refinery is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Specialist to lead the preparation of accurate financial statements for its integrated mining and refining operations in Riyadh. The role ensures compliance with IFRS and Saudi statutory requirements while handling precious‑metal inventory valuation and cost accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the monthly close calendar, posting journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements in line with IFRS and Saudi regulations.
• Reconcile physical gold inventories with system records using assay and weight data.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Calculate and file quarterly Zakat declarations in accordance with ZATCA regulations.
• Analyze production costs and provide variance reports for refining and exploration activities.
• Design and monitor internal controls over financial reporting.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, ensuring accurate depreciation and impairment testing.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and support their professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA or CMA.
• Minimum seven years of financial reporting experience, preferably in mining or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, especially inventory, assets and impairment standards.
• Proven experience managing external audits and regulatory inspections in Saudi Arabia.
• Excellent analytical ability and command of English; working knowledge of Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
• Experience with Power BI or similar business‑intelligence tools.
