Senior QA/QC Inspector - Mechanical Shutdown & Turnaround

About the role

ABIS is looking for an experienced Senior QA/QC Inspector / Engineer specializing in mechanical work, with shutdown and turnaround experience. The role ensures quality assurance and control during mechanical projects in shutdown and turnaround environments within the oil and gas industry, including inspections, coordination with project teams and compliance with codes, standards and safety regulations. It calls for strong leadership skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections of mechanical equipment and systems during shutdowns and turnarounds
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, international codes and safety standards
• Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors and project teams to resolve quality-related issues
• Prepare inspection reports, non-conformance reports and documentation
• Take part in root cause analysis and corrective action processes
• Support project management to ensure timely completion of shutdown and turnaround activities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in QA/QC inspection or engineering roles focused on mechanical systems
• Proven experience in shutdown and turnaround projects in the oil and gas sector
• Ability to lead and mentor junior inspectors or engineers

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of mechanical codes, standards and inspection techniques
• Familiarity with quality management systems and procedures
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work under high pressure and meet tight deadlines
