Senior SAS and Cyber Security Commissioning Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior SAS and Cyber Security Commissioning Engineer to lead the commissioning of Substation Automation Systems (SAS) with integrated cyber‑security measures for critical infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The role combines hands‑on engineering with security expertise to ensure reliable and protected operation of power substations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities for SAS components such as protective relays, RTUs, SCADA systems and communication networks, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Develop and implement cyber‑security commissioning plans, including secure configurations, network segmentation, access controls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) for both automation and security components, identifying and resolving discrepancies or vulnerabilities.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing and incident‑response drills to validate the resilience of operational technology environments.
• Collaborate with design engineers, project managers and clients to integrate SAS and security solutions and provide technical guidance.
• Troubleshoot complex hardware, software and security configuration issues and deliver effective resolutions.
• Prepare detailed commissioning, as‑built and cyber‑security compliance reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and stay updated on emerging standards, technologies and threats.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in substation automation and cyber‑security engineering.
• Proven experience leading commissioning projects for SAS, including FAT and SAT.
• Strong understanding of OT security standards and best practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
