Senior Software Engineer, AI Platform
Mirai · Riyadh
Job description
About the role
Mirai, a Scopely Studio, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer on its AI platform team in Riyadh. The team builds software for Scopely game teams and internal departments, including tools that use large language models (LLMs) for bug triage, player feedback analysis, market research and contract analytics, as well as direct-to-consumer web stores. The role is software engineering, not infrastructure: DevOps and SRE engineers own clusters, pipelines and cloud provisioning.
Key responsibilities
- Build product features end to end on internal AI tools in TypeScript or Python, from design through production.
- Turn repeated patterns into shared services and libraries (model access and spend, identity and permissions, retrieval, tool servers, LLM call controls) and move products onto them without stopping delivery.
- Build MCP tool servers that expose company data to agents and chat tools, with permissions enforced before data reaches the model.
- Help introduce relationship-based access control so access rules are defined once and applied to database queries and vector search.
- Standardize model access through an LLM gateway, and spread safety patterns (prompt-injection handling, kill switches, sandboxed code execution, locked-down data access) across products.
- Make shared pieces easy to adopt with clear APIs, versioning, templates and documentation.
- Set the standard in code review, including for AI-assisted code, and mentor engineers through review, pairing and design.
- Own incidents and work with DevOps engineers on deployment and operation.
Required profile
- Six or more years building and running production software, including at least one shared service, library or internal API used by others.
- Shipped LLM features to production (retrieval over embeddings, tool calling, structured output, output quality checks).
- Built multi-tenant or permission-sensitive systems and treats model output and retrieved content as untrusted input.
- Clear written and spoken English, able to explain technical trade-offs to product and business stakeholders.
- Uses AI coding tools and verifies their output; understands, can prove and owns what is merged.
Required skills
- TypeScript and Node.js, and strong Python.
- Production experience on AWS with infrastructure as code in Terraform or similar.
- Writes tests and treats CI checks as gates.
- Nice to have: SpiceDB, LiteLLM or Amazon Bedrock, LangGraph, and a platform serving several teams.
