Senior Software Engineer – LiveKit & WebRTC Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and evolution of enterprise‑grade real‑time communication products. The role focuses on technical leadership, architecture, and hands‑on development of LiveKit and WebRTC platforms while modernising legacy systems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across frontend, backend, and real‑time communication layers.
• Drive architectural improvements for scalability, security, observability and operational resilience.
• Design, build and optimise LiveKit/WebRTC‑based communication platforms, including rooms, participants, media tracks and session lifecycle.
• Improve reliability, reconnection handling, monitoring and production troubleshooting.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Guide teams in balancing delivery speed with long‑term software quality.

Required profile

• Extensive experience building and operating scalable real‑time communication systems.
• Strong background in modernising legacy codebases and reducing technical debt.
• Ability to influence architecture decisions and set engineering standards without formal people‑management responsibilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment serving both public and private sector clients.
