Senior Structural Engineer – Jeddah

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to lead the supervision of structural works on large‑scale building projects in Jeddah. The role provides technical leadership, ensures compliance with designs, specifications and local authority requirements, and supports the Resident Engineer in progress monitoring and issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supervision of structural works on major building developments.
• Review and approve shop drawings, calculations, method statements, material submittals and temporary works proposals.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, international codes and Saudi/GCC authority requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor quality, progress and safety.
• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors and client representatives.
• Review contractor RFIs, technical submissions and identify non‑conformances, driving corrective actions.
• Support the Resident Engineer with progress reporting and technical issue resolution.
• Witness testing and commissioning activities related to structural systems.
• Mentor site inspectors and junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 12–15 years of post‑graduate experience, including at least 8 years in building construction supervision in the GCC.
• Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel construction.
• Experience reviewing structural calculations and designing temporary works.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees and other relevant authority requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Membership of a recognized professional engineering body (desirable).
