Senior Transportation Operations & Fleet Planning Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Transportation Operations & Fleet Planning Specialist to lead daily transportation planning, fleet allocation and trip execution for a leading logistics provider in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on optimizing fleet utilization, reducing empty trips and ensuring compliance with Saudi regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily and weekly transportation plans for vehicles and drivers based on shipment requirements.
• Allocate shipments to vehicles and drivers considering location, capacity, availability and customer needs.
• Organise trip schedules, monitor execution and ensure drivers follow approved plans.
• Track vehicle movements via GPS and vehicle‑tracking systems.
• Communicate continuously with drivers, providing trip and shipment details.
• Handle delays, breakdowns and operational issues, taking corrective actions.
• Re‑plan trips and re‑allocate shipments in response to changes or urgent requests.
• Optimise fleet utilisation to minimise empty trips and unnecessary costs.
• Coordinate with Customer Service and Operations teams for efficient shipment execution.
• Prepare regular reports on trips, vehicles, drivers and shipment status.
• Analyse fleet performance, utilisation rates, delays and overall efficiency.
• Support junior Operations team members and contribute to process improvements.
• Work with Logisti, MODON and Transport General Authority (TGA) platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation operations and fleet planning.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Logisti platform.
• Experience using the MODON platform.
• Familiarity with Transport General Authority (TGA) systems.
• Ability to monitor and analyse GPS and vehicle‑tracking data.
