Senior Underwriting Assistant Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Underwriting Assistant Manager to lead the non‑marine general underwriting function at SAICO Insurance. The role combines portfolio oversight, risk selection, pricing and the development of underwriting processes to drive a balanced and profitable book of business.

Key responsibilities

• Issue quotations, renewal notices, loss records and policies.
• Oversee development of non‑marine general underwriting, applying best practices to achieve a profitable portfolio.
• Conduct risk selection, technical assessment and pricing for Property & General Accident lines.
• Review and refine underwriting processes, rules and guidelines.
• Analyze business portfolios for renewal, reinsurance retention and risk control planning.
• Develop and maintain pricing models and underwriting tools.
• Calculate appropriate premiums using actuarial data and statistical analysis.
• Assist in placing excess risks with the reinsurance market and manage related correspondence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Insurance or a related field.
• 6‑8 years of relevant underwriting experience.
