Service Engineer – High Speed Engines

About the role

We are looking for a Service Engineer specialised in high‑speed diesel engines to deliver worldwide maintenance, repair and overhaul assignments for generators and marine engines. You will work closely with the team lead and field technicians, providing expert technical support on‑site and in workshops, both on‑shore and offshore.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls and inspections on high‑speed diesel generators, marine engines and turbochargers.
• Prepare for service assignments by checking spare parts, special tools, material availability and scheduling.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and work cards to ensure correct execution.
• Plan and coordinate on‑site work processes, manpower and assembly procedures, coaching service technicians.
• Support customers with technical expertise, assembly/disassembly activities and preventive‑maintenance advice.
• Carry out commissioning, performance testing, fault diagnosis and recommend corrective actions.
• Create accurate service reports, analyse maintenance data and propose improvements.
• Report and investigate incidents, accidents and near‑misses in line with company HSE procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment, marine industry or power‑plant service.
• Experience with health & safety, quality and service job management.
• Willingness to travel internationally and work on‑site.
• Ability to prepare technical reports using Microsoft Office.

Required skills

• Knowledge of high‑speed diesel engines (MAN 175D, Caterpillar, Perkins, MTU, Deutz, Cummins, YANMAR).
• Turbocharger maintenance.
• Engine auxiliaries such as separators, coolers and filters.
• Interpretation of technical drawings, schematics and work cards.
• Commissioning, performance testing and fault diagnosis of diesel engines.
• Maintenance data analysis and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
