Spare Parts Storekeeper

About the role

The Spare Parts Storekeeper is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, control, and issuance of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation spare parts that support rod‑mill, casting, pickling and cathode‑handling equipment. The role ensures critical spares are available, inventory records are accurate and maintenance support is timely to minimise equipment downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and verify spare parts against purchase orders, specifications and OEM requirements.
• Organise bin locations, labeling and storage conditions while maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Issue parts against approved maintenance work orders and emergency breakdown requests.
• Maintain ERP/CMMS records for receipts, issues, transfers, returns and master data.
• Monitor minimum/maximum levels, critical and insurance spares, and trigger re‑orders based on lead times.
• Conduct cycle counts, physical inventories and investigate variances to keep inventory accuracy ≥99%.
• Identify and report slow‑moving, obsolete, excess and critical spares.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Procurement, Planning and Finance while ensuring HSE compliance, housekeeping, security and 5S standards.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 6–8 years experience in spare parts stores, maintenance stores or inventory control within manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Experience with SAP PM/MM, CMMS, ERP and advanced MS Excel.
• Ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, BOMs and parts catalogues.
• Understanding of criticality, min/max stock, rotable spares and overall inventory control.
• Willingness to work shifts or be on‑call when required.
