Specialist, Plant Supply Chain

About the role

The Material Follow‑Up Specialist ensures that all materials, parts and assemblies arrive on time and in full from local or overseas suppliers to support manufacturing operations. The role is pivotal in maintaining production flow by monitoring supplier performance, coordinating shipments, and keeping inventory levels aligned with demand.

Key responsibilities

• Track and document supplier issues or delays, communicating promptly to resolve problems.
• Maintain a detailed log of supplier performance for continuous analysis and improvement.
• Arrange urgent shipments, update teams on expected delivery times, and monitor shipment status in SAP and the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Participate in root‑cause analysis for premium transportation issues.
• Ensure accurate inventory records in SAP through min/max evaluations and discrepancy resolution.
• Identify and communicate supplier problems such as shipping errors, labeling issues, or scheduling conflicts, and follow escalation procedures.
• Support production by following up on material status, communicating critical part updates, and assisting with engineering changes and launch planning.
• Attend daily operations meetings to discuss material‑related concerns.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supply chain, logistics or material management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor performance metrics and resolve issues quickly.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize urgent shipments.
