Steward – Hotel Kitchen & Back‑of‑House Support

About the role

The Steward ensures the cleanliness, sanitation and organization of all kitchen, stewarding and back‑of‑house areas in an Accor‑affiliated hotel. This role supports smooth culinary and Food & Beverage operations by maintaining equipment, managing waste and complying with strict hygiene and food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, wash, sanitize and store kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans and tools.
• Operate commercial dishwashing machines safely and efficiently.
• Maintain adequate supplies of clean operating equipment throughout service periods.
• Keep stewarding, kitchen and back‑of‑house areas tidy and well‑organized.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of kitchen and banquet equipment as required.
• Perform routine cleaning of floors, walls, drains, workstations, storage and waste‑disposal areas.
• Follow cleaning‑chemical handling procedures and label storage correctly.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, food‑safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Segregate and dispose of food waste and recyclables appropriately.
• Report equipment malfunctions, hygiene concerns and safety hazards promptly.
• Participate in internal food‑safety inspections and audits.
• Handle kitchen inventory carefully and report any damage or loss.

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high hygiene standards.
• Physical stamina for standing, lifting and repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.

Required skills

• Operation of commercial dishwashing machines.
