Supplier Quality Engineer

About the role

Nextpower is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier qualification, PPAP management and continuous quality improvement across its global supply base. The role involves close collaboration with the NPI team, Quality Manager and external suppliers to ensure product quality and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct supplier qualification audits and generate PPAP requests in Arena.
• Visit suppliers for PPAP audits, review processes, and drive corrective actions.
• Collect, evaluate and submit supplier quality documents to customers on schedule.
• Perform periodic process audits, close non‑conformities, and support the Quality Manager in monitoring supplier performance.
• Issue Material Dispatch Clearance Certificates and maintain shipment records.
• Prepare monthly reports on parts, product and document issues for management.
• Investigate critical quality issues on site, perform root‑cause analysis (8D) and implement corrective/preventive actions.
• Train supplier teams on quality tools and drive continuous improvement using Six Sigma methodologies.
• Develop automation ideas for documentation and internal processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6‑8 years of experience in supplier quality management.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Certified internal auditor for QMS, IATF or VDA.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time to suppliers, project sites and customers.

• PPAP and supplier qualification processes.
• Quality tools: 8D, 5‑Why, SPC, Pareto, RCA.
• Six Sigma Green Belt methodology.
• Internal auditing (QMS, IATF, VDA).
• Data analytics with Power BI and Minitab.
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
