System / Database Operations Senior Engineer

About the role

The System / Database Operations Senior Engineer will support ZATCA’s IT infrastructure by ensuring the smooth operation of systems and databases. Working with minimal supervision, the engineer will follow established guidelines to maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current systems and database operational models, identify gaps and propose improvements.
• Oversee daily system and database operations, including monitoring, performance reporting, and incident resolution.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine tasks where feasible.
• Review and manage change requests, ensuring timely implementation and compliance with policies.
• Participate in the installation, configuration, and upgrade of software, hardware, and operating systems.
• Apply security patches and vendor release notes, and provide technical support for tickets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in system and database operations.
• Strong collaboration, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to lead junior staff, prioritize tasks and ensure workflow consistency.
