Team Leader - Production

About the role

The Production Team Leader oversees daily operations of the event production workshop, ensuring scenic elements, structures and custom displays are fabricated efficiently, safely and to high‑quality standards. This hands‑on role leads a team of carpenters, welders, painters and junior fabricators while acting as the primary link between project managers, designers and the workshop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and motivate a high‑performing workshop team to meet tight event deadlines.
• Interpret technical and CAD drawings to guide fabrication and coordinate workflow to optimise production.
• Enforce strict health‑and‑safety rules, inspect finished products for quality and manage raw‑material inventory.
• Support on‑site installation and collaborate with project managers on progress, potential delays and material issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in scenic construction, exhibit fabrication or a fast‑paced workshop environment.
• Proven leadership ability with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays to meet event deadlines.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting technical and CAD drawings.
• Woodworking, metalworking and scenic painting.
• Basic knowledge of ERP or inventory software; Microsoft Office and Excel for reporting.
