Technical & Engineering Director – Luxury Hotel Project

About the role

The Technical & Engineering Director will lead all technical and engineering functions for a luxury hotel construction project executed by a main contractor. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures engineering excellence, cost optimisation and compliance with codes while supporting the overall project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the technical and engineering strategy aligned with project and business objectives.
• Lead, develop and manage a high‑performing engineering team, fostering quality, innovation and efficiency.
• Oversee engineering activities to guarantee timely delivery, cost control and adherence to standards.
• Review and approve method statements, technical proposals, shop drawings and material submittals.
• Drive value‑engineering initiatives and introduce innovative construction solutions for luxury developments.
• Coordinate closely with construction, commercial, procurement, HSE and operations teams.
• Identify and mitigate technical and design‑related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage the engineering budget and ensure optimal resource utilisation.
• Support and enforce HSE policies, safety awareness and incident reporting in line with IMS requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of experience in construction engineering, including at least 10 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience delivering luxury hotel or high‑end hospitality projects, preferably with main contractors in the GCC.
• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering; professional registration (MMUP / UPDA) preferred.
• Strong hands‑on experience preparing detailed construction methodologies and method statements.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering principles, materials engineering, drawings and specifications.
