Technical Head - Track Systems

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Technical Head – Track Systems to provide strategic and technical leadership for railway programmes across the Middle East. The role combines consultancy, project delivery and innovation to drive high‑quality track systems solutions and operational asset management.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the trusted technical authority and SME for track systems, guiding clients and internal teams on design, manufacturing, installation, testing, commissioning and operational readiness.
• Lead multidisciplinary rail projects, ensuring delivery excellence across scope, schedule, cost and quality while managing critical system interfaces and certification requirements.
• Drive business development by leading bids, tenders and feasibility studies, and by building strong client relationships to grow AtkinsRéalis’ market position.
• Promote digital and advanced control technologies, supporting innovation in smart mobility, industrialised manufacturing and data‑driven systems.
• Mentor and develop engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and technical best practices.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified engineer with 15+ years of experience in high‑speed, conventional, freight or metro railway track systems.
• Proven leadership of complex, multidisciplinary rail projects and senior stakeholder management.
• Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant professional institution.
• Experience with assurance, approvals, certification processes and equipment supplier management.
