Technical Writer - Oil & Gas Documentation

About the role

A Technical Writer is needed in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, to prepare, review, coordinate and maintain engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures alignment with project requirements, approved templates and Saudi Aramco standards. It is a contractual position starting as soon as possible, lasting 10 months (extendable).

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain technical correspondence, reports, design basis memoranda, design criteria, specifications, method statements, procedures and as-built documentation.
• Review documents for grammar, consistency, correct terminology, template compliance and alignment with Saudi Aramco and project requirements.
• Coordinate documentation inputs with process, mechanical, civil and structural, electrical, instrumentation, HSE, project management and document control teams.
• Consolidate review comments, prepare client submission packages, maintain revision histories and track document review and approval status.
• Support approved document uploads and transmittals, and maintain document registers through SharePoint, Aconex, EDMS, ProArc or other designated systems.
• Compile vendor records, manufacturing records, test certificates, commissioning records, handover packages, as-built books and O&M manuals.
• Ensure all documentation complies with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), Saudi Aramco Engineering Procedures (SAEP), project specifications and contractual requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in any engineering discipline.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in construction of large oil and gas plants or EPC projects.
