About the role
SGS is seeking an experienced Telecom Quality Control Inspector to ensure that all telecom installation, testing, and commissioning activities on offshore oil & gas EPC projects comply with Saudi Aramco standards and project specifications. The role involves close coordination with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to maintain the highest quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect and monitor installation of fiber optic (OSP & ISP), structured cabling, CCTV, access control, public address (PAGA), telephone & data networks, and radio/microwave/TETRA systems.
- Verify compliance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES, SAEP, SATIP) and approved IFC drawings.
- Review and approve ITPs, method statements, material submittals, and shop drawings.
- Conduct site inspections for cable laying, termination, splicing, grounding, and equipment installation.
- Witness and verify testing & commissioning activities such as OTDR, power meter tests, fiber splicing & loss testing, and system integration functional testing.
- Raise, monitor, and close Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Site Observation Reports (SORs).
- Prepare as‑built drawings, test reports, and handover dossiers.
- Participate in Aramco inspections, walk‑downs, and audits while ensuring HSE and safety compliance.
Required profile
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Saudi Aramco approval and CBT pass as QC Telecom/Communication Inspector (mandatory or preferred).
- 7‑8+ years of telecom QC experience on Oil & Gas EPC projects, preferably with Saudi Aramco telecom systems.
- Proven experience working with EPC contractors on Aramco projects.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of Saudi Aramco telecom standards (SAES, SAEP, SATIP).
- Ability to read and interpret IFC drawings and technical documents.
- Strong inspection, documentation, and reporting capabilities.
- Hands‑on experience with fiber optic installation, OTDR testing, power meter testing, and fiber splicing.
- Familiarity with structured cabling, CCTV, access control, public address, telephone & data networks, radio, microwave, and TETRA systems.
