Tendering Intern - Power Quality Solutions

About the role

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Tendering Engineer Intern in Dammam to support the tendering team in preparing accurate, competitive technical-commercial proposals for power quality products and solutions. Working under the guidance of experienced tendering engineers, the intern gains hands-on exposure to customer requirements, engineering documents, costing, supplier coordination, risk review and offer preparation, with a focus on safety, quality and integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer inquiries, specifications, drawings and single-line diagrams, identify missing information and assumptions, and support bid/no-bid assessments.
• Help select suitable power quality solutions and equipment, and prepare technical datasheets, scope of supply, bills of materials (BOM) and compliance documentation.
• Work with Engineering, Supply Chain, Factories, Project Management, Sales and suppliers to gather technical, cost, delivery and commercial inputs for competitive offers.
• Support customer communications, technical clarifications and responses so requirements are properly understood.
• Maintain tender documentation and support internal reviews, approvals and timely submission of compliant offers.
• Learn power quality products, tendering processes, costing, commercial and contract terms, risk management and quotation tools through real opportunities.
• Follow company requirements for safety, quality, integrity, confidentiality and governance, and comply with applicable regulations and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering preferred; Mechanical, Industrial, Software Engineering or other related fields may also be considered.
• Fresh graduate interested in tendering, sales engineering, technical-commercial proposals and power quality solutions.
• Good analytical, numerical, organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Fluent spoken and written English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
