Testing and Commissioning Engineer

About the role

AECOM is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Testing and Commissioning Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The engineer executes comprehensive testing and commissioning activities so that systems, equipment and installations meet design specifications, performance standards and regulatory requirements, working with cross-functional teams to verify functionality, resolve technical issues and document commissioning work.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute and document detailed testing and commissioning plans aligned with project specifications and industry standards
• Perform systematic testing of equipment, systems and installations to verify proper operation and compliance
• Conduct pre-commissioning inspections and identify deficiencies or non-conformances
• Calibrate instruments and equipment to ensure accurate measurement and data collection
• Analyze test results and performance data to evaluate system functionality and troubleshoot issues
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and maintenance teams to resolve problems and implement corrective actions
• Prepare commissioning reports documenting procedures, results, observations and recommendations
• Maintain records of commissioning documentation, test certificates and equipment certifications
• Communicate technical findings and status updates to stakeholders and management
• Support the transition to operational status through knowledge transfer and training

Required profile

• Proven 10 years of experience in testing and commissioning of industrial systems, equipment or infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, commissioning procedures and quality assurance protocols
• Experience with test equipment operation, calibration and data analysis
• Experience on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects (preferred)
• Knowledge of safety standards and commitment to a safe work environment

Required skills

• Familiarity with ISO, API, ASME or equivalent industry standards and regulations
• Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving with a systematic, analytical approach
• Excellent organization and documentation skills
• Project management tools and software
• Familiarity with automation and control systems (preferred)
• Industry-specific commissioning certifications or training (preferred)
