Thermal Spray Coating Specialist – APS / HVOF

About the role

Every successful gas turbine repair relies on precise thermal‑spray coating. Mitsubishi Power Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Thermal Spray Coating Specialist to join its Repair Shop in Dammam, applying hands‑on expertise from component preparation to final coating quality.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, mask and grit‑blast gas‑turbine and hot‑gas‑path components for coating.
• Set up and operate APS, HVOF and thermal‑barrier‑coating equipment, including powder feeders and coating controllers.
• Run robotic coating cells using ABB, FANUC or KUKA systems and ensure proper programming.
• Perform equipment checks, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of thermal‑spray guns and controllers.
• Qualify coating processes, inspect coating thickness and quality, and maintain workshop safety and 5S standards.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Atmospheric Plasma Spray (APS) and HVOF/HVAF processes.
• Background in coating gas‑turbine and hot‑gas‑path components.
• Proficiency with robotic coating systems (ABB, FANUC, KUKA) and related programming.
• Familiarity with Oerlikon, Metco or similar thermal‑spray equipment.
