Thoracic Surgeon – Cardiac & Thoracic Expertise Required

About the role

The Thoracic Surgeon provides attending and consulting surgical services to patients of all ages at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare in Dhahran, handling both ambulatory and hospitalized cases with cardiac and thoracic expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Perform thoracic and cardiac surgeries for patients of any age, including complex cases.
• Conduct daily rounds, examinations, and post‑operative care for both in‑patient and out‑patient services.
• Serve as consultant to other medical services and the intensive care unit.
• Assume after‑hours responsibility for surgical cases and ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in quality‑improvement activities, in‑service education, and hospital committees.
• Supervise staff physicians, interns, and provide evaluations to department leadership.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognized school with one‑year internship.
• Full residency in surgery and board certification (Saudi or Western) in a relevant sub‑specialty.
• At least three years of post‑board surgical practice, including two to three years of thoracic surgery training.
• Eligibility for Saudi or Western Board sub‑specialty certification.
• Commitment to continuous medical education and teaching of junior staff.
