VAT & Zakat Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a VAT & Zakat Accountant to support our accounting team in Saudi Arabia. The role involves preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with VAT and Zakat regulations while assisting various departmental functions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries for depreciation, accumulated depreciation and other accounting transactions.
• Enter payables, receivables, collections and general‑ledger data, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
• Update personnel records for new hires, leave entitlements, overtime and compensation.
• Manage petty‑cash, payment vouchers and daily cash‑bank vouchers, monitoring receipts and deposits.
• Verify customer invoices, track undelivered invoices and reconcile remittances.
• Check supplier invoices for accuracy, obtain supervisor approval and post to the system.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register, calculate depreciation and record asset disposals.
• Prepare monthly payroll reports, ageing reports and work‑in‑progress statements.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Demonstrated experience with VAT compliance.
• Experience handling Zakat calculations.
