Venue Planning Architect – Fixed-Term (Riyadh)

About the role

We are looking for a Venue Planning Architect to join a high‑profile international sporting event project in Riyadh. The role will be central to planning, developing and managing venue layouts, operational plans and technical drawings across multiple tournament venues.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain venue layouts, zoning plans, circulation plans and operational drawings.
• Translate operational requirements into functional spatial designs and improve space utilization, access and user experience.
• Coordinate venue modifications and temporary infrastructure requirements.
• Work closely with operations, security, accreditation, transport, medical, commercial and broadcast teams to gather and incorporate stakeholder requirements.
• Ensure all venue plans align with safety, accessibility and operational standards.
• Participate in venue planning workshops, reviews and readiness exercises.
• Produce and manage technical drawings, maintain drawing registers, revision histories and version control.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors and venue owners to update designs and reflect operational changes.
• Support venue preparation, crowd movement planning, access control and temporary facilities during test events and operational periods.
• Update venue plans throughout project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Urban Design, Spatial Planning, Interior Architecture or a related field.
• 4–8 years of professional experience in architecture, venue planning, master planning, event infrastructure, stadiums, airports or other large‑scale developments.
• Proven experience preparing technical drawings and coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of spatial planning, circulation, accessibility and user flow.
• Ability to work in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven project environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
