Accountant – Financial Reporting & Analysis

About the role

Shory is looking for an Accountant to support its fast‑growing digital insurance platform. You will ensure accurate financial records, prepare statutory reports and provide insights that help the business make informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit & loss and cash flow statements.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and keep financial records up to date.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Prepare tax documentation and support compliance with tax regulations.
• Analyse financial data and generate ad‑hoc reports for management.
• Reconcile accounts, investigate discrepancies and support month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies and internal controls.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver financial insights for business decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and accounting principles.
• Experience preparing financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
