Accountant-General (SOCPA Certified)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant‑General to support daily financial operations, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with company policies. The role involves reviewing financial figures, organizing records, and handling cash‑related activities while safeguarding confidential information.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial figures, postings, and supporting documents for accuracy.
• Organize, secure, and maintain financial files, cash, and cash equivalents.
• Record, classify, code, and summarize data using journals, ledgers, and accounting systems.
• Prepare and maintain financial, accounting, auditing, payroll, and statistical reports.
• Support period‑end closing procedures and required financial reports.
• Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements.
• Follow up on overdue accounts and vendor invoices until resolution.
• Prepare daily consolidated cash deposits and identify cash variances.
• Maintain cashier bank records and related agreements.
• Protect company assets and ensure secure handling of financial records.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, customers, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Develop positive working relationships across departments and support team objectives.

Required profile

• High school diploma, G.E.D. equivalent, or higher qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in accounting, finance, or cashiering.
• SOCPA certification/registration is mandatory.
• No prior supervisory experience required.
