Analyst – Planning & Optimization

About the role

The Analyst – Planning & Optimization will support the production planning and feedstock optimization of petrochemical and polymer streams for joint‑venture projects in Al‑Jubail. The role prepares production plans, develops schedules, performs mass‑balance analysis and provides data‑driven insights for commercial and operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare short‑ to medium‑term production plans that balance customer demand, plant capacity, inventory levels and maintenance constraints.
• Develop and issue weekly and monthly production schedules for petrochemical and polymer products.
• Track schedule execution, identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Generate scenario and “what‑if” analyses to support planning reviews.
• Collect, validate and input data for feedstock optimization and mass‑balance models, including swaps and alternative sourcing.
• Maintain dashboards, tables and KPIs for planning decision support.
• Prepare regular reports on feedstock utilization, production plans, inventories and capacity utilization.
• Coordinate with operations, logistics, sales and business development to gather required data and clarify assumptions.
• Participate in S&OP and ES&OP meetings to align production capabilities with commercial demand.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience in a petrochemical environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel.
• Experience using Aspen PIMS or similar planning tools.
• Familiarity with SAP or comparable ERP systems.
