Application Performance Monitoring Engineer

About the role

NextEra is seeking an Application Performance Monitoring Engineer to lead end‑to‑end monitoring of web applications, microservices and APIs. The role focuses on proactive detection, root‑cause analysis and performance optimisation across production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and manage APM agents (Dynatrace, AppDynamics or New Relic) across web, microservice and API layers.
• Build dashboards, alerts and SLA/SLO tracking for anomaly detection.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of latency and degradation issues and drive remediation.
• Integrate APM data with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow and Jira for incident correlation.
• Monitor containerised workloads on Kubernetes/Docker and cloud‑native services.
• Define baseline performance metrics, throughput, error rates and Apdex scores.
• Support capacity planning using trend data from APM platforms.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience with at least one enterprise APM platform in production.
• Valid certification for Dynatrace, AppDynamics or New Relic.
• Experience monitoring Java.NET or Node.js web applications and REST/GraphQL APIs.
• ITIL foundation knowledge.
