Area Maintenance Manager - Mixed Feed Cracker (MFC)

About the role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) is hiring an Area Maintenance Manager for its Mixed Feed Cracker (MFC) / Steam Cracker unit in Al-Jubail. The role leads all maintenance activities for the cracker area, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient plant operations in line with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and rotating equipment maintenance for Cracker units, including preventive, predictive, corrective and shutdown work.
• Ensure effective execution and reporting of maintenance activities through the CMMS system.
• Support the Planning & Scheduling and Reliability teams in maintenance optimization, bad actor analysis and reliability improvement.
• Lead maintenance planning and execution during turnarounds, major shutdowns and emergency maintenance.
• Manage day-to-day maintenance teams and contractors while ensuring full HSE compliance.
• Prepare weekly maintenance reports and take part in maintenance review meetings.
• Develop team capability through technical coaching and job-specific training in coordination with HR.

Required profile

• Saudi nationals only.
• At least 15 years of oil and gas / petrochemical maintenance experience with a diploma, or 20 years with a high school education, or 10 years with a bachelor's degree.
• Mandatory hands-on maintenance experience in ethylene cracker / MFC units; candidates without cracker experience will not be considered.
• Proven experience managing plant turnarounds, shutdowns, maintenance contracts and reliability improvement programs.
• Ability to deliver business results in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of gas turbines, compressors, pumps, furnaces, heat exchangers, boilers, columns, piping systems and critical rotating equipment used in cracker plants.
• Strong knowledge of CMMS, maintenance planning, RBI, RCA and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
