Associate Computing Professor

About the role

The Associate Computing Professor will introduce students to the core concepts of Information Technology, Software Engineering, and Computer Science. The role guides learners in understanding each discipline, exploring real‑world applications, and making informed decisions about their major.

Key responsibilities

• Teach introductory courses such as Foundations of Computing, Introduction to ICT Disciplines, Computing Thinking & Problem Solving, and Computing Careers & Pathways.
• Deliver engaging lectures, labs, and projects that cover algorithms, data representation, networks, and cybersecurity basics.
• Explain the distinctions between IT, Software Engineering, and Computer Science using case studies and industry examples.
• Participate in curriculum development, lesson‑plan design, and continuous program improvement.
• Provide academic advising, major‑selection guidance, and support to students facing computing anxiety.
• Assess student performance through formative and summative methods and give constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with faculty from related programs to align learning outcomes and maintain accurate student records.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
