BI Designer – Reporting & Dashboard Specialist

About the role

The BI Designer will shape reporting and dashboard experiences across our current and future Business Intelligence platforms. You will lead the rationalisation of existing reports, create intuitive visualisations, and ensure a smooth migration to a strategic BI environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess existing dashboards, reports, cubes and other BI assets on legacy and current platforms.
• Identify duplicate, outdated or low‑value reports and recommend rationalisation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture reporting needs, KPI usage and decision‑making workflows.
• Design target‑state dashboards, wireframes and report layouts that follow best‑practice visualisation standards.
• Support migration of reports from legacy tools into the strategic BI platform, defining templates, filters, drill‑downs and navigation patterns.
• Ensure new reports consume governed semantic models and approved data sets.
• Work closely with BI developers, data modelers, business analysts and data architects to validate feasibility and support architecture transition.
• Drive user‑experience improvements and promote dashboard adoption across the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing enterprise‑level BI dashboards and analytical reports.
• Strong knowledge of data visualisation, KPI storytelling and dashboard usability.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear visual designs.
• Understanding of semantic models, filters, dimensions, measures and reporting hierarchies.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
