Breathing Apparatus / Nitrogen Technician

About the role

ABIS is looking for a Breathing Apparatus / Nitrogen (BA/N2) Technician to manage and maintain breathing apparatus and nitrogen equipment so that safety compliance is kept on site. The role covers inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of systems used in hazardous environments, especially in the oil and gas industry, and involves close cooperation with health and safety teams.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain and repair breathing apparatus and nitrogen equipment regularly.
• Ensure all BA and nitrogen systems meet safety regulations and industry standards.
• Carry out equipment calibration and troubleshooting to keep systems ready for operation.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance, inspections and equipment status.
• Support emergency drills and real incidents by preparing and supplying breathing apparatus and nitrogen systems.
• Work with safety and operational teams to ensure compliance and safe work environments.
• Train personnel on the correct use and care of breathing apparatus and nitrogen systems.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or certification in fields such as safety equipment maintenance, mechanical or electrical.
• Previous experience with breathing apparatus and nitrogen systems, preferably in oil and gas or industrial settings.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations for breathing apparatus and compressed gases.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair and carry out routine maintenance accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills and willingness to work in challenging, potentially hazardous environments.
