Buyer – Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring the materials, components, tooling, services, and indirect goods needed to support business operations. This role ensures purchases deliver the best overall value, are sourced from approved suppliers, and arrive on time to meet production and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Source and procure direct and indirect goods, services, tooling, and capital equipment.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate supplier responses, and recommend commercial and technical solutions.
• Create and manage purchase orders in the ERP system, ensuring accurate specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery terms.
• Monitor and expedite open purchase orders to avoid supply shortages.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.
• Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and performance monitoring.
• Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts.
• Identify cost‑saving initiatives through competitive sourcing and value engineering.
• Collaborate with planning, warehouse, operations, and finance to align purchasing with inventory goals.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards, and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
