Chief Accountant

About the role

The Chief Accountant will lead the Finance Shared Service Centre (SSC) for BV entities in Saudi Arabia, providing mentorship, setting departmental objectives and ensuring accurate financial reporting across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the finance team, establishing clear goals and performance standards.
• Oversee financial and management accounting for all BV KSA entities, including month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Manage group payments, receipts, invoicing, agreements and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with internal control policies.
• Maintain accurate records of assets, liabilities, P&L, tax liabilities and other financial activities.
• Analyse financial information, produce management reports and challenge actuarial valuations.
• Coordinate with external auditors for timely financial and tax audits.
• Ensure timely tax submissions and adherence to local content requirements.
• Prepare management accounts in line with IFRS standards and meet quarterly, half‑yearly and annual reporting deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong reporting, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and motivate teams.
• Excellent organisational skills and HSSE training.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS standards.
• Bank reconciliation and cash‑flow management.
• Experience with internal control frameworks such as Magnitude, Xcert and GUARD.
