Civil Engineer – Airport Pavement Design (Riyadh)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineer specialized in pavement design to join Egis in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on designing runway, taxiway and apron pavement systems for airport projects, from concept through construction documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyse airport pavement systems, including runways, taxiways and aprons, using industry‑standard software.
• Develop detailed design specifications and construction documents in line with FAA, ICAO and Saudi Arabian standards.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and coordinate with soil engineers to optimise pavement performance.
• Prepare technical drawings and plans using CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Conduct structural analysis and modelling of pavement layers to determine thickness and material requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and cost‑effectiveness.
• Review existing pavement conditions and propose rehabilitation or reconstruction strategies.
• Support site inspections and provide technical assistance during construction phases.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in civil engineering design, preferably in airport pavement projects.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or equivalent CAD software).
• Experience in pavement design and structural analysis of pavement layers.
• Knowledge of geotechnical analysis and coordination with soil engineers.
• Familiarity with FAA, ICAO and Saudi Arabian airport design standards.
