Civil Inspector – Roads & Networks

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Inspector to oversee the construction of roads, utility networks and related infrastructure in Jeddah. The successful candidate will ensure that all works are carried out in line with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards and health‑and‑safety requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect road and utility network construction to verify compliance with drawings, specifications and contract terms.
• Monitor daily site activities, track progress against schedules and conduct inspections of earthworks, sub‑grade, sub‑base, road base, asphalt paving, curbstones, sidewalks and hardscape.
• Check installation of water, sewer, storm‑water, irrigation, telecommunications and electrical duct banks, confirming line, level, dimensions and tolerances.
• Ensure materials and workmanship meet project specifications; witness field and laboratory testing for soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and utility works.
• Review inspection requests, material approvals and testing reports; issue observations or non‑conformance reports and verify corrective actions.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, utility authorities, laboratories and project stakeholders; attend site meetings and support the Resident Engineer.
• Maintain daily inspection records, prepare reports, punch lists and snagging documents, and report progress, quality issues and potential delays.
• Monitor contractor compliance with health, safety and environmental plans, identifying unsafe conditions and promoting good construction practices.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience inspecting and supervising roads and infrastructure projects.
• Background working with consultancy firms, contractors or project‑management organisations.
