Civil Inspector (Saudi National)

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in the Middle East, is looking for a detail-oriented Civil Inspector to join its site supervision team in Riyadh. The inspector ensures that all construction work meets established standards, regulations and project specifications, acting as a key link between project management and on-site execution.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect construction sites to verify compliance with approved plans, building codes and Saudi Arabian construction standards
• Monitor construction activities and workmanship quality against project specifications and industry best practices
• Document findings through detailed reports, photographs and site records
• Report deviations, defects and safety hazards to project management and stakeholders
• Check that materials, equipment and labour meet project requirements
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on site
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers and project managers to resolve issues
• Maintain records of inspections, test results and corrective actions
• Perform quality assurance checks from foundation to completion and assist in resolving quality disputes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• At least 10 years of experience in civil construction site inspection and supervision
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian building regulations and construction standards
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions on site and handle physical site inspections

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of construction standards, building codes and quality assurance practices
• Proficiency in report writing and technical documentation
• Experience with construction management software and digital documentation tools
• English proficiency; Arabic is a plus
