Civil Inspector – Structural Assessments

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Civil Inspector to lead structural and road‑construction inspections. The role involves ensuring that all works meet design specifications, standards, and safety requirements while providing clear, actionable reports.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine and detailed site inspections of roadworks, earthworks, pavements, drainage, and related infrastructure.
• Verify compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and method statements.
• Monitor contractor activities against project specifications and standards such as AASHTO, ASTM, BS, DMRB, and local DOT guidelines.
• Witness and validate field and laboratory tests (compaction, asphalt, concrete, soil).
• Maintain accurate inspection records, site diaries, NCRs, and produce daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, contractors, QA/QC teams, and regulatory authorities.
• Provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and support engineering queries on design and constructability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory); Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in road and highway infrastructure projects, including inspection, supervision, and quality control.
• Proven experience with roads, highways, expressways, interchanges, and associated drainage or bridge works.

Required skills

• Road construction methods and pavement design
• Asphalt, concrete, and aggregate materials
• Compaction and soil testing
• Knowledge of AASHTO, ASTM, BS, DMRB, ASCE standards
• Familiarity with local DOT standards (UAE preferred)
