Coater Process Engineer (Vacuum Coating)

About the role

Guardian Industries is seeking a Process Engineer specializing in vacuum coating processes. In this role you will support environmental, health, safety, and stewardship goals while ensuring consistent product quality and cost‑effective manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and optimization of coating processes for current and upcoming product projects.
• Contribute to new thin‑film process technology, product launches, transfers and improvement initiatives as part of the global development team.
• Lead an operational team safely and efficiently, taking ownership of safety, quality and productivity.
• Provide process engineering support to plant operations, improving quality, performance and throughput of vacuum coating systems.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and innovations to advance business strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with optical thin‑film technologies and vacuum coating sputtering processes for solar, semiconductor or architectural glass.
• Proven ability to analyze challenges, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Expertise in problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma and Lean principles.
• Experience leading and motivating high‑performing teams.
