Coating Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the role

ABIS is looking for a Coating Engineer to join its Oil & Gas team in Al Jubail. The engineer develops, plans and supervises coating projects that protect equipment and structures against corrosion and other environmental factors, working closely with project teams to specify coatings, manage application processes and meet industry standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop coating specifications and procedures for oil and gas projects
• Inspect and evaluate surfaces to choose the right coating systems
• Supervise coating application to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
• Coordinate with quality control and inspection teams to monitor coating integrity
• Manage documentation for coating processes, approvals and certifications
• Provide technical support and recommendations on coating issues
• Ensure health, safety and environmental regulations are followed during coating work
• Keep up with the latest technologies and trends in coatings and corrosion protection

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Corrosion Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in coating engineering within the oil and gas industry
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to safety and quality standards

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of coating materials, surface preparation and application techniques
• Familiarity with NACE, SSPC and ISO standards for coating and corrosion control
• Proficiency in software tools used for documentation and reporting
