Commercial & Contract Manager

About the role

The Commercial & Contract Manager will support the HGS Construction Director in administering construction contracts and consultancy agreements for the Prime Business Resort project. This role ensures accurate claim evaluation, change control, and procurement monitoring to keep the project on schedule and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice to the Construction Director on contractor claims and guide response strategies.
• Monitor the Cost Consultant’s evaluation of claim cost elements and ensure timely processing of interim payment applications.
• Administer the project’s Change Control Process, handling Contractor Change Requests, Change Initiation Forms, Engineer’s Instructions, and Variation Orders.
• Track and update logs for sub‑contracts, warranties, insurances, purchase orders, and claims.
• Review and compile draft notices, instructions, variation orders, letters, and reports for senior approval.
• Monitor contractor procurement activities against the construction schedule to guarantee material availability.
• Attend weekly commercial and procurement meetings, contribute to discussions, and review meeting minutes.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and external parties such as the Employer’s Cost Consultant, Contractor’s Commercial Manager, and Construction Supervision Consultant.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction contract administration and commercial management.
• Strong understanding of claim evaluation, change control procedures, and procurement monitoring.
• Ability to work closely with senior directors and cost consultants, providing clear guidance and timely updates.
• Excellent communication skills for drafting notices, reports, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
