Commercial Vehicle Service Technician

About the role

Al-Futtaim Automotive is looking for a skilled and dedicated Service Technician to join its Service team in Jeddah. The role covers preventive maintenance, diagnostics, breakdown repairs and running repairs on commercial vehicles in line with manufacturer standards and company procedures, helping to maximise vehicle uptime and deliver high-quality repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs and running repairs on commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and powertrain issues.
• Carry out repairs on clutch systems, brakes, aggregates and other components.
• Complete repairs accurately and efficiently according to OEM standards.
• Identify further repair opportunities and give technical observations to improve vehicle performance.
• Use diagnostic tools, workshop equipment and special service tools safely and effectively.
• Maintain accurate technical reports and identify root causes of vehicle concerns.
• Follow workshop safety standards, ISO requirements and company procedures.
• Support and guide junior technicians and take part in technical training.

Required profile

• ITI qualification or equivalent technical certification.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience as a technician in the commercial vehicle industry.
• Proven experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, diagnostics and running repairs.
• Strong technical understanding of commercial vehicle systems and components.
• Willingness to travel and attend field breakdowns and on-site repairs when required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of diesel engines, common rail systems, powertrain, driveline, electrical systems and air conditioning.
• Familiarity with OEM repair standards, SOPs and workshop best practices.
• Strong safety awareness, attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure.
• Good communication and technical reporting skills.
